Our story
About TCGScout.
A free, ad-light Pokémon TCG product guide — built by a collector, for collectors.
Our mission
Make the world of trading card games less confusing and more accessible by aggregating accurate, up-to-date pricing and product information for every release so collectors and players can make informed decisions without wading through dozens of stores, forums, and spreadsheets.
Why this exists
Trading cards are exciting. Researching them shouldn't be a chore.
TCGScout started because finding straight answers about Pokémon TCG products was unreasonably hard. Pack contents and pull rates were buried in scattered Reddit posts. Pricing was either inflated MSRP from manufacturer sites or stale screenshots from forums. Set lists were trapped inside marketplace UIs that wanted you to buy first and read later.
We pull from public, transparent sources — TCGPlayer aggregator data, eBay sold-listing averages, and direct product information — and present it in one place, refreshed every morning. The site is optimized for the question you actually showed up to answer: "what's in this pack, what does it cost, and is it worth opening right now?"
Built by college students who collect too, which means feature decisions get made by the same people who actually have to use this thing.
What we do
Everything you need to evaluate a release, in one place.
Pack details
Hit rates, set lists, chase cards, and current pack prices for every Pokémon TCG expansion released to date.
Product breakdowns
ETBs, booster bundles, blisters, and tins — with a per-pack price breakdown and inventory of what's actually inside.
Daily price updates
An automated cron refreshes prices every morning from real sold-listing data. No stale numbers from last quarter.
Release schedule
Upcoming sets and products with confirmed and rumored release dates, so you can plan pre-orders without scrolling Twitter.
Field notes
Long-form guides and market commentary on the Blog — set deep-dives, opening-strategy posts, and investment takes.
No tracking gimmicks
No accounts to sign up for, no email capture, no abandoned-cart funnels. Just the data.
What we stand for
Four commitments we hold ourselves to.
Free, forever
Every page on TCGScout is free to access — no paywalls, no logins, no premium tiers. Everyone gets the same information.
Ad-light by design
We keep ads minimal and unobtrusive. We will never run autoplay video ads, pop-overs, or anything that gets in the way of finding what you came for.
Honest data
Prices are aggregated from public sold-listings. We tell you when data is unavailable instead of guessing or showing stale MSRP. Sources are documented in the open.
Built in the open
TCGScout is a two-person project run by college students who collect too. Feedback shapes the roadmap — every "report missing info" button goes straight into the queue.
Roadmap
What we're building next.
Daily-refreshed prices for the core Pokémon TCG catalog
Filling out the Pokémon TCG catalog — every product, every set, fully fleshed out
eBay Marketplace Insights integration for sold-listing price data (pending approval)
Pack EV calculator — log what you pulled and see the expected value vs. the reality
Richer individual card view — pricing history, print variants, and pull-rate context, beyond just rotating the card
How you can help
TCGScout grows when you use it and share it.
The single most useful thing you can do is tell people about TCGScout. If a friend asked you "what's in this pack?" — point them here. Word of mouth is what gets a project like this in front of the people it was built for.
The second most useful thing is letting us know when something is off. If you spot a missing card, an incorrect price, or an outdated set list, hit the Report missing or inaccurate info button on the affected pack or product page. It lands directly in the admin queue and gets reviewed. You can also send broader feedback or feature requests through the contact form.
Thanks for being here. Whether you're price-checking your collection, planning a pre-order, or just trying to figure out what a "Special Illustration Rare" actually is, TCGScout exists so you can find that out in under thirty seconds.
